With the smorgasboard of channels, apps, live streaming, youtube and whatever else available, you’d think it would be a sinch to watch a fight or game somewhere. Has finding a spot to watch your favorite sport become easier? Maybe it has, maybe it hasn’t. Can bar and restaurant owners keep up with the ever changing channels and apps? When’s the last time you’ve been to a sports bar, and was it a fun experience? That’s a lot of questions, and here are some answers.

So many of us remember the times of calling every bar, hotel and club to see where we could watch the fight. Search no more, the hunt is over! The typical sports bar isn’t for everyone. If you’re the type that requires something more than frozen bar food and appreciates an ambiance, there is one spot in Studio City that has fight night done right. It’s good to get out and have someone wait on you for a change and not have any dishes to do, gather with friends and have a fun chill night without breaking the bank. I will not keep you wondering any longer, the place is called Jalapeño Pete’s.

JP’s is located on Ventura Blvd with plenty of easy street parking. The place is spacious with authentic Mexican blue leather furniture giving the feeling of being on vacation. The cocktails were delicious with fresh ingredients, and the chips served nice and warm with salsa.

When I go to a sports bar, my biggest pet peeves are bad sound, screens so high you have a sore neck the next day, and the place being too damn bright. At Jalapeno Petes in Studio City, some genius figured out to dim the lights like a special screening during sports events. It’s super fabulous to watch sports on a screen the size of an entire wall. Good food, decadent desserts and a friendly staff. There’s not a bad seat in the house with flat screens in every nook and corner.

Happy Hour is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. $6 margaritas and $3 well cocktails and select beers and wine. Check for specials from 9 pm to 2 am, and tell them LA Canvas sent you! They offer outside seating with heaters as well. We had a great time, thank you Jalapeño Pete’s. Be sure to check Jalapeño Pete’s website or instagram for this weekend’s world heavyweight championship fight and all other sports events. One last thing, there’s never any cover. #jalapenopetesla.
