Summer’s finally here. And for Angelenos, that means a rigorous schedule packed with music shows and concert dates throughout the season. This month, two-piece indie garage band The Kills take the stage at the iconic El Rey Theater in Los Angeles on July 27th. The band, which was formed by part-time model and lead singer Alison Mosshart, has been around since the early 2000’s. After a decent length hiatus, The Kills announced their summer tour alongside big names such as Jack White, The Black Keys, The Arctic Monkeys, and Queens of the Stone Age to name a few.
When it comes to their sound, The Kills resonate some deep post punk influences combined with gritty blues, combining and creating a beautiful hybrid of the two. Sharing the stage with guitarist Jamie Hince, the duo ignite the stage with their musical chemistry. What better place to catch this epic reunion than at Los Angeles’ art deco nightlife staple, the El Rey.
Bare in mind folks, this will be The Kills only Los Angeles date. Make sure to purchase your tickets early (for a smooth $38) cause the show’s sure to sell out. But if you sleep on it, you’re not totally out of luck—the duo is hitting the Glass House in Pomona the following night.
