LA Happenings

It may take LA natives a little longer to get where they are going, but with so many places to go it’s worth the hours of our lives we lose every year in traffic.

Celebrate LA and the people who make it all the more fabulous at the Outfest: LBGT Film Festival, an 11 day Film Festival focused on showcasing LGBT storytellers through film, television and the web.

Need another excuse to call out sick and spend a day at the beach? The Twilight Summer Concert Series returns to the Santa Monica Pier on July 9th, and every Thursday night of summer until September 10th. Each date brings its own unique lineup spanning many musical genres, transforming the beach into a mini music festival. With no age requirement and each even being free bring the whole family.

Summer Saturdays and Sundays should be spent at brunch directly followed by a pool party and LA Canvas’ Calendar is chock full of those. Head to the hotel pools to splash around and squeeze out the last remnants of the weekend. Our go-tos are Hotel Figueroa, Sky Bar at Mondrian, and The Standard, but stay tuned, because as they say if there’s a pool, there’s a party.
