Compelling & Rich Coffee, a micro-roastery from Kian Abedini based in Los Angeles aims to deliver small lots of select, freshly roasted single-origin coffee—including a cannabis-conditioned Ethiopia Yirgacheffe (say what now!?)—and rare premium teas. While Compelling & Rich Coffee doesn’t yet have its own brick-and-mortar store, they share a space inside Gelateria Uli called Frequency Coffee where Abedini partners with other local, small-batch roasteries to put out a variety of coffee drinks and coffee cocktails, where the ingredients harmonize with the flavor profile of that particular roast. One such example is an “Espresso and Cola Iced Americano” with your choice of Mexican Coca Cola, Dad’s Root Beer or Black Cherry; a boozy coffee concoction is “The Broadway”, a cold brew with reduced whiskey, cherry bitters, orange blossom water and a splash of condensed milk. That one does the trick for us, cause Mondays.
Compelling & Rich specializes in roasting their single-origin coffees to order and delivering within three days of order. Their focus is on high quality with the freshest-possible roasting process, delivering the beans whole since pre-grinding loses all aromatics within seconds of being ground.
