The wait is over: today, Blue Star Donuts will opening their doors on Abbot Kinney.

Since opening their doors 2012, the donut shop has expanded to four locations in Portland, one in Japan, and now Venice.

Blue Star champions that they are the ‘donut for grownups.’ Establishing their dominance in the donut scene in Portland, Eater’s dubbed them  “Hottest Doughnut Shops in America” and USA Today claims they’re the “Tastiest Donut Shops in the USA.”

Their menu will feature some favorites like the Real Maple Bacon, Cointreau Creme Brûlée and the O.G. (Orxata Glaze), as well a few exclusive LA-inspired flavors. They will also be partnering with another Portland cult favorite Stumptown Coffee to serve fresh coffee to pair with your freshly-made donut. From the organic whole milk from Sunshine Farms and house-made coconut granola, to the locally-sourced olive oil from Red Ridge Farms, Blue Star’s creative menu  blows past your typical chocolate with sprinkles and maple glazed selections.

Head over to Venice today and try the BlueBerry Bourbon Basil, Hard Apple Cider Fritter, Cointreau Creme Brûlée, Matcha Cake, Blueberry Cake, or Raspberry Buttermilk.
