What’s better than the opportunity to watch adorably hilarious cat videos on the BIG screen while surrounded by people who share the “cats rule everything around me” motto? Nothing. Nothing at all. CatCon is presenting the first annual CatVideoFest to satiate that indescribable need for furry balls of indifference and attitude. Will Braden, curator and producer of the Walker Art Center’s Internet Cat Video Festival, has branched off to create his own little piece of awesomeness here in DTLA. Braden’s newest endeavor, CatVideoFest, will take place on June 25th at 10 pm at the Ace Hotel.
Braden has been a feline fan sensation since 2012 when he debuted his Youtube comedy channel starring his cat, Henri, Le Chat Noir. He reached over 20 million views and won the Golden Kitty Award at the first Internet Cat Video Festival that same year. In 2013, Braden was given the opportunity to direct the annual convention after the creator Susan Helms decided to step down in order to focus on other endeavors. This year will mark the final Internet Cat Video Festival and Braden has decided to fill the void that it would undoubtedly leave by starting his own fest.
Andy Milanokas will be hosting and dopest
The event will also be benefitting cats in need by donating $1 of the ticket price to FixNation, a non-profit organization committed to cats and supporting Trap-Neuter-Return. For more info and tickets, click here.
